Memorial Tribute – Loretta Waneta Champ Hendrickson
Loretta Waneta Champ Hendrickson, passed away peacefully with her children at her side on August 23, 2012, in Springdale, Arkansas, at the Circle of Life Hospice Home. She was born on November 24, 1924 in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Lawrence A. and Viola Burroughs Champ. Loretta was the widow of the late Felix L. Hendrickson and a devoted member of the Parkhill Christian Church for almost 50 years where she served as a Deacon, Circle Leader, Sunday School teacher and a member of nominating committees. She received great joy in devoting many hours as a Director of the North Little Rock Shepherd Center. Loretta was an Executive Secretary for the Arkansas Professional Board of Engineers and Land Surveyors and a member of the American Business Women’s Association. She was a former model and worked at Rocky Mountain Arsenal during World War II. Loretta loved all the beauty of nature, especially animals, birds, butterflies and Arkansas lakes. She especially received great joy and satisfaction through her dear Christian friendships.
Loretta is survived by her two children, Carol Adams of Katy, Texas and Skip Hendrickson of Lakeway, Texas; her son-in-law, Gary Adams; and grandchildren Felicia Adams, Melissa Adams and Hunter Hendrickson.
A Memorial Service celebrating her life was held Thursday, August 30, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. in the Parkhill Christian Church sanctuary, 4400 John F. Kennedy Blvd, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72116. Visitation with Loretta’s family was at 1:00 p.m. at the church, immediately preceding the Memorial Service. Graveside services were held at Griffin Leggett – Rest Hills Memorial Park.
